South of Nowhere follows the Carlin family as they deal with the complexity of identity and struggle to make sense of their lives.

The second season finds Spencer, Clay and Glen dealing with thorny issues surrounding who to be-and whom to love. Charismatic bisexual Ashley and compelling hottie Aiden add to the drama that has now become a fixture in their lives in Los Angeles. Spencer finds herself finally coming to terms with her sexuality, only to be confronted with her mother’s rage when her relationship with Ashley is uncovered one wrenching night.

Spencer goes on to deal with coming out to her family and coping with the aftermath at home and at school. Parents and children alike find that knowing your own mind-and knowing your own heart-isn’t quite as simple as they’d imagined.
